News Frontliner Web Desk, 3 February 2019: With more than five hours to go before the Brigade rally of the Left Front to begin, the ground is already seeing people from far and near streaming in. The buzz around suggests, that today’s Brigade Rally will surpass all previous records of peoples’ assemblage.
Thousands of people have reached the city from across the state and many have stayed the yesterday’s night in open. From morning only Left Front supporters are seen marching towards Brigade Parade ground from various parts of the city and from Howrah and Sealdah Station.
With the call to oust Trinamool Congress from Bengal and BJP from Centre, the Left Front leaders has been sincerely working hard for the last one month to mobilize people and make 3rd February Brigade Rally a historic one from all perspective.
The event is also seen as an attempt by the Left to regain its lost ground in Bengal. The Left Front comprises of 10 parties including CPM, CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc.
From banners, flags, posters, slogans and roadside meetings to social media campaign through Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, the party has taken all sorts of efforts to reach out to the masses.
Apart from senior Left leaders, former JNU students union president is one of the key speakers and main attraction at today’s Brigade rally.
Former Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhatacharyay will most likely not be able to attend today’s rally and deliver his speech because of his deteriorating health.
